Als Heinrich Heidersberger sich Ende der 1920er Jahre in Paris -
eher durch einen Zufall und dank seiner unstillbaren Neugier - für die
Photographie entschied, wurden Photographen noch Lichtbildner genannt.
Eine Bezeichnung, die für Heidersberger in besonderem Maße passend
erscheint. Zeitgleich mit den Auftragsarbeiten für namhafte Architekten
der Braunschweiger Schule, die insbesondere seine Lichtführung
schätzten, beginnt er sich Anfang der 1950er Jahre der Luminographie -
der Aufzeichnung einer Lichtquelle in Bewegung - zu widmen. Er ist
fasziniert von der Idee, das Licht selbst zum Objekt werden zu lassen.
